Frederik Vanden Bogaerde (°24/06/1974) studied law & history at KU Leuven and graduated as a master in law cum laude in 1998.

He immediatly joined the Kortrijk Bar in 1998, mostly working on insurance, criminal and traffic law in the first couple of years in his career. He joined Vancoillie & Partners law office in 2000, where he worked his way up from associate to partner, focusing more and more on transport law. From 2007, he headed the transport department at this firm.

Understanding better than anyone the transportation industry's need for specialized assistance, he then founded the firm TLA in 2013.  Under his leadership, TLA became a household name for legal assistance in transport & logistics, not only in Belgium, but also in the surrounding countries and even throughout Europe. Frederik is one of the founding partners of ITL Attorneys in 2023.

Frederik represents clients before Courts and Tribunals in Belgium, France and Luxembourg and has been doing so for many years. He has experience both before the highest Belgian and French Courts, including the Courts of Cassation and the European Court of Justice. He provides pan-European advice to the various players in transport & logistics.

In ITL Attorneys Belgium, Frederik is senior partner and heads the criminal, regulatory and labour department.

Frederik has published a whole series of books and articles on transport law, including books and articles on driving and resting times, CMR, cabotage and entry into the market. He is also a much sought-after speaker on transport law, giving lectures to transport professionals, lawyers and students alike.

Frederik is recognized as EUMOS expert in cargo securing and in the Legal 500 as a leading figure in Belgian transport law, being described as a true polyglot in transport law. He is a member of the Institut du Droit International des Transports in Rouen.

He is fluent in Dutch, French and English.
